I would love to have an updated mod to have a really WEAK companion and slowly helping it to level up. Sadly, they are always overpowered and so far, outdated. Would love to have it more for company than it carrying the game.
Edit: Just realized if Valheim had some kind of Conan Exiles mechanic, to enslave a creature and have it by my side, would be quite interesting. With plenty of limitations, of course, to make it under powered. Like enslaving a Greyling in early game to help you out, be at your side, command it in combat or resources management. *just having some fun with my imagination*.
Overall the game is designed to be played in small groups. It shines there. But there is no player synergy mechanics that would be not avilable for solo. You get the full, albeit lonely experiance.
If you are prepared well, you'll beat it.
Take your time, don't rush.
Do better than Ulf?
Ulf made it to Mistlands, Odin only knows how. Do better than Astrid. It took her seven years to get to the mountains.
No, no, no, no, no. Ulf kept finding nothing but misery and things kicking him out to the higher biomes. Astrid took her time and prepared, venturing more-or-less on her own terms!
