Why should these things be able to be placed? I have no need, as the game has plenty else for me to do.
You want to mount and display coins, or honey?
Like, I get the mindset of wanting to be able to use some of these to make a house feel lived in. Wouldn't mind having a few bars set down around a blacksmith's table for example as decoration without worrying about them despawning.
The game is still in EA. Who knows, maybe they'll allow for more decoration down the line, maybe not. Personally I wanna steal the shields from the crypts, but the game is what it is.
thats what i mean by lazy.
some random person managed to do it a long time ago.
So because the devs have other priorities they're lazy? They're a small team. Every mounted item has a unique interaction that likely has to be coded for and modeled. . .that costs development time. That sort of coding can also be exceptionally tedious and very very easy to get wrong and therefore break things in the official code.
I'd rather that time be spent on bug fixes and developing the rest of the game before worrying about whether I can officially surround my bed in rubies or something. Plenty of times games get updates that allow for such things down the road. Lets see the game actually finished first before nitpicking about we can and cannot use to decorate with.. .in a game that doesn't actually have anything to do with decorating.
You can build coin stacks and piles using coins. For me, that explains why you can't mount them.
Hide and pelts make rugs. Except for troll hide, I guess.
Silver necklace and quite a few other treasures go into making a treasure chest. You can use that for decoration.
Torch... Why? There are so many different designs of torches and other light sources you can build.
Some of the rest, I actually agree, though. Ores and metals would be nice. Maybe a stack of bars just like the coal stacks?
" a game that doesn't actually have anything to do with decorating."
arguable thats about the entire point of the game lol
that was a complete list from a wiki.
