Chareed fortress
Do the walls break on the ashlands fortress? Im trying to build a base inside but there is a huge tall 2x2 wall in the middle where the chest is, can i get rid of those walls?

also funny fact : the tower upper part floats in the air if you break the lower section since it has no stability calculation. same as the mistlands whisp light posts.

We built smelthers because we were too lazy to keep going back and forth, because coal and flametal ore were right there and because we wanted to keep building the moment a batch of flametal came out lol.

As for the shield generator, two words: Fallen Valkyries

That dang generator has kept those stupid valkyries from destroying parts of our new Charred Fortress base more than once.

that still doesnt make sense. why build in such a wasteland war zone^^

It's not our only base, but rather our flametal fields base as there is lava with flametal all around us and is close to Fader's ring (the real reason for the base in the first place).

Our main base is built atop a destroyed dvergr camp near shore with limitless ferns growing underneath and vines on every wall. Main base:

that makes even LESS sense. why teleport all that stuff over there when you already have an actual mainbase somewhere else you can just portal the metal towards. thats definitly faster and easier. especially since the flametal pillars will run out sooner or later anyway.

fens arent an issue they are this biome cloudberries. they are everywhere.

vines can be grown anywhere aswell and are more safe outside the ashlands. but i noticed the vines in the sites of respite ruins grow the berries ALOT faster and more of them aswell. maybe the player made ones are a bit bugged still.

i dont get why you teleported everything into ashlands instead of teleporting all the stuff you need out. the later is way less work and also more safe. unless you did it just for the sake of it.

Ok , found my first fortress after establishing a coastal base. What I want to know is if I can just float in and kill everything. There is an elevation right next to the fort. Anything preventing this ?

Do i need any special equipment to get to the goodies once inside?

Jump the walls - you will need to build stairs to do this. Keeps fort walls intact. Take out the spawners usually 2 per base - kill everything in there + destroy skruggs( ballista type things on top corners of keeps), Then use battering ram to punch hole in central tower. Usually there's an archer or wizard on top of tower just shoot it a couple of times + it will jump down - easier to kill at ground level

We took the fortress tonight. I surrounded it with fires, and softened it up a lot, took out all but one or 2 of the turrets and one spawner before we even entered. I was able to float in with feather cape , my friend was not, I spent what felt like forever kiting mobs around the inside perimeter of the base turning around to kill many of them at a time, there were many green flashes and it appeared as though they were respawning , but after what seemed like 10 minutes they were all dead

So I built the workbench , the portal , then the shield gen, My friend was still outside so i told him to go back to the landing base and portal in.

We looted the 2 chests at the bottom , then notices the door to the middle. So we built a battering ram. We took turned hitting that inside tower door for what seemed like 20 minutes. Nothing.

So i started to green metal pickaxe my way in the side, and it worked in short order.

We now have a bunch of new crafting , and a completely safe base deep in the Ashlands.

good job btw i think those green sparks come from the wizard conjuring skeletons as they are green + a bit glowy. When you kill the wizard they don't despawn either so there may be a few running around till you kill them

Battering ram breaks the doors in 3 hits, also u could dig under the tower to get inside

On the inner door it wasn't doing any damage, kept seeing a zero and 20 float up when we hit the door. Eventually realized that the door was taking zero and the ram was taking 20, we must have ben doing something wrong.

Hit the wall instead - usually 2-3 hits

ram damage to structures are pretty obvious. so unless you had no fuel in there xd
