Do the walls break on the ashlands fortress? Im trying to build a base inside but there is a huge tall 2x2 wall in the middle where the chest is, can i get rid of those walls?

only the siege ram can break some of the fortess parts. enemies cannot. pickaxe cannot. the pickaxe dmg youre seeing is from the spikes mostly. these can be broken but they have a stupid amount of health. use the ram.

picture please of what youre hitting. do you hit the door or the wall? the door does take pickaxe dmg but the wall should not. but itll take forever to break it. the ram takes it down in like 3 uses.

i think the outer walls are invincible but the walls to the central structure has some parts that are destructable, it didnt let me dig far so i destroyed a corner and got in that way.

Yeah this, how much time did it take to break the wall?

build up so you can jump over the walls, better to leave the outer walls intact and take over the castle for a base.

Yes you absolutely can, but you need a catapult with explosive ammo to destroy them.

We didn't complete destroy the inner one, but did punch a hole in it so we could have stairs starting from where we dug underneath and exiting into the house.

Inside our Charred Fortress home looking at the now fixed up hole we made with the catapult.

Basically houses the shield generator, has stairs down and under the tower where we have an extended family of Asksvins running around along with smelters and defenses.

I decided to take a diff approach taking it down, lol. It broke some at first, and then for some reason it stopped collapsing

but why. you have a stone portal. why teleport the stuff over into the ashlands instead of doing it the other way around? i get the asksvins until you get some more 2 star eggs but the rest? that seems fully useless to do. you dont even need the shield if you house things within the central tower. and anything made of stone is immune to the fire rain anyway.

also funny fact : the tower upper part floats in the air if you break the lower section since it has no stability calculation. same as the mistlands whisp light posts.

Yes, you can destroy the walls. Either using siege machines or even the black metal pickaxe, but the latter takes quite a lot of hits to get through.

We built smelthers because we were too lazy to keep going back and forth, because coal and flametal ore were right there and because we wanted to keep building the moment a batch of flametal came out lol.

As for the shield generator, two words: Fallen Valkyries

That dang generator has kept those stupid valkyries from destroying parts of our new Charred Fortress base more than once.
