my HOUSE IS GONE. WTF?!
I boot up my world to start checking out the new update. Go to my lovely mountain cabin in the deep North.
Immediately fall through what used to be the floor and now this is happening.

This used to be attached directly to mistlands. Half the terrain is GONE. And my house is in the process of disassembling itself >:(

So was mine, its how they detached the firelands from the existing mistlands etc.

My base in the north is gone too... it seems the ice is melting because there is a big new ocean now. and the water flooded and destroyed another base at the nearby mistlands too... portal gone, items gone... it´s annoying

My guess is so they can separate it like the did the south from the mainland.

but my base in the mistlands is gone too...and this base was in the middle the biom. everything is flooded. I could understand if the deep north is gone but why other bioms? makes no sense for me....and I'm so far away from ashlands, that can not be the reason

The change that removed land bridges between both ashlands and adjacent biomes, and the deep north and adjacent biomes, affected the land a decent distance into the adjacent biomes, as well. It wasn't safe to build anywhere remotely near the border of ashlands and the deep north, as a result. You said the mistlands base that was destroyed was nearby the deep north one, so apparently it was too close to the border.

Folks they warned us about this.

Yes I lost a very nice cabin in the north as well that I was very fond of. Its now in ruins in what is now a Beach... I was maybe a 100 yards too close to the new border dammit. Same comment down south my fort thier lies in bits a short swim off the new coast.

It was unlucky as I thought I had given both locations enough room but guess not quite. Go into creative mode and rebuild further in.

I loaded into my world on the Ptb, went to the Ashlands, died real fast, then spawned in at the original spawn, and watched as everything around me fell into the ocean. Died repeatedly trying to make it to an island, luckily there was a blueberry bush behind one of the markers, and managed to make it to land. In the distance, could see my main base slowly disintegrate, it was utterly horrifying.
I will just wait for any updates now, the ptb is too scary. Managed to delete the cloud save file and get my world back, but never again, lol.

the ptb is gone now dude. youre playing the live version. the central spawn doesnt sink. that is a mod conflict issue for certain.

as for the thread : devs warned about this. dont build near undeveloped biomes. youre asking for trouble by doing so.

I (we) had a base in ashlands.

Thought we'd be clever and pre-empt the zone implementation.

I log in 2 days ago , see the portal is still active, so i get naked and pop through.

Entire ground level base is now floating 50 yards off the ocean in the heart of ashlands.

Nothing started to break so I popped back through the portal. But it isn't long for this world if i go back through i'm afraid.

Been doing all my ash prep assuming that port isn't the best option.

it takes a few moments of a player beeing there before the stability checker notices there is no more ground support. then the floating stuff will quickly fall apart. forget about it. dont go there again or youll end up swimming^^

It happened in the ptb last week, and I don't use mods, I had to wait for it to release to get my world back.
