Thats how it looks like, last beam in the picture is 28m tall from the ground and marble on top of it(so 30m) breaks
the best cost effective method overall is dvergr metal walls as they only need copper and have the same support as iron and flametal beams. but they can only be used for vertical stuff to begin with.
build height limits.
marble has a build height limit of 18m without support. then it breaks no matter what.
grausten has a limit of 26 meters before it breaks.
iron etc. has a limit of 50m roughly.
the only way to build higher is with the help of trees as support as trees count as ground level.
marble with iron support has a max build height limit of 28m. so you saying "its only 28m" is kinda funny. as 28 is precisely the ABSOLUTE limit for marble even with iron support. you cannot exceed this height with just iron support and marble in any legit way. what youre trying is impossible without the use of cheats or mods.
the max height for grausten is a bit higher. about 6m compared to marble. but then its over for anything from heavy build aside beams themselfs.
you can use wood on top of 28m of marble as marble counts as ground for the wood calculation.
but for marble youre out of luck.
in order to gain height you have 2 legit options : raise ground level by up to 8m from original map generation.
plant a PINE tree. pines are way higher than other trees and if you build on the top of the tree it counts as ground for the caculation to begin. but if anything breaks the tree the entire thing will come down.
bridges of any seriousness without cheating are exceedingly difficult to do. If you go UP to give clearance below for a boat, its even harder... if you just go straight across, its a little farther reach. I can't tell much from the pic beyond that its a large structure. A shot of the river and bridge so far from farther back would help...
Just a simple bridge over a deep river. I was building a road from my little village to my friends castle, and other way without going thru that river would be sea. But its very shallow river so boat can just barelly pass it, clearance is not needed, i just want to build bridge to connect the road from me to him.
ok. you can slove your problem with cheat commands if you wanna then. just spawn some of the skulls in they act as ground and allow infinite height building basically.
i dont know thier ID out of my head sorry. but if you just spawn them in and the build on top of them the piece placed on top will become blue stability again.
'Ground' objects (those that spawn naturally in the world, from small boulders all the way up to the giant stone pillars) count as the 'ground' for the purposes of anything built touching them, so any object built touching them has its maximum build strength. By spawning those objects in controlled locations attached your structure, you can 'reset' your structure's effective ground height to whatever height you want.
