Items disappearing as they exit stations

it just started today, but I am having coal and bars disappear before I can pick them up after they exit the kilns and smelters. anyone have this happen to them?

We’re having ore and metal disappear too, though, ours happens when we place it in a chest. Doesn’t matter if it’s me (the host) or my friend. We’ve lost a solid 30-40 flame metal so far. Of course we don’t seem lose the low value stuff…no of course not! Ugh.

This has never happened pre Ashlands. Sometimes an extra wood would be placed in a kiln but that would be it. Now we’re losing incredibly hard to get resources. :,(

Are you both hosting though in-game options or some dedicated server? Is anyone using mods like shift + E to store stacks of items into smelters? Also, can you both do a buffer bloat test: https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat and let me know of your results?

Personally, I just realized that with the Craft From Storage or autofuel mod, it was sending the charcoal straight to the smelter right away. I thought it was just despawning for some reason. So it might be going to your smelter or a nearby chest.

If you're on vanilla, then I have no idea.

i always see a message something about cleaning up unused assets(could be severely misremembering what it actually says) but ive kind of wondered what that means exactly it didnt pop up when i used to play a year + ago ive kind of wondered if it means, just textures or if its items and textures or something else

I really hope its not items, and if it was id hope they'd introduce an option to disable it because i personally like being able to drop all my stuff in my base and never worry about it disappearing on me
