Next update
Hi, me and my friend have been playing Valheim for a while and we always get back into it after taking some long breaks. We are considering starting a new world but want to make sure we enjoy it to the fullest, we waited for the ashland update but now we are wondering when the next update will happen, is there perhaps a roadmap? or any speculation about the far north?

idk, I died once in ashlands and never played again..
I guess mistlands infuriated me so much to the point that I didnt even care about playing the game anymore

Same guess as anyone else -- about the same amount of time as the other two took, far as we know. They don't hold themselves to hard dates like other development companies, so it's unlikely to get a hard-and-fast date until we've got the public test candidate available to us.

If you want to enjoy it to the fullest, as intended, with minimal disruptions, wait until 1.0 to launch. Do not plan on any dates for this.

You will not miss anything if you wait. Ashlands is currently broken and will not get fixed until devs are back from vacation. Maybe check back at end of summer?

it'll likely be mid 2026 when the Far North (and by extension the full release of the game) happens.

I think it's possible we'll get a smaller update before the last biome, like we had with Hearth and Home and Hildir's Request, and the Mountain update, which added frost caverns. Then there were changes to things like fishing, and even the introduction of difficulty settings.

Quite a lot has changed over the years.
