So where EXACTLY can the Yagluth Vegvisirs spawn?
Been through 3 or 4 plains biomes now, discovered multiple fuling villages, fuling towers, a few monuments (with the chest at the top) and even discovered a large circle of stonehenge rocks with berserkers and have yet to discover a vegvisir.

Looked online and people say they usually spawn at the stonehenge circles or the single stonehenge formation, but can people advise where else they spawn? Can they spawn in the Fuling villages? If so, can they spawn in the huts or always outside? Can they spawn next to the giant megalith stones?

I think people mentioned they can spawn next to the Fuling towers but is there anywhere else I should be looking?

I'd hate to think my bypassing some Fuling villages may have caused me to miss the vegvisir.

P.S. No comments about sailing along the coast to find the Yagluth spawn. I'm aware of this strategy but I'd rather find the vegvisir first. Thanks.

in the villages, specifically the type with the very tall tower, or the stand alone very tall tower one, and in the little all-greystone buildings away from villages.

They are notably less common, almost rare, compared to every other boss.

I don't recall any in real villages, but maybe there too? Its hard to say as POI can overlap a little -- ive seen 2 villages on top of each other nearly, or village + tower, unclear if that is one thing by intended or 2 POI near each other? Anyway, I don't know that checking villages is productive due to time to clear enough to find it and odds of it being there. Ive cleared several dozen and can't recall a stone there, BUT, if you still need the alter item for Yag, you can get those from village and check for stones too...

Thanks for your reply. I know there are fuling stone towers with spikes around them and maybe 3/4 sets of ladders high and they often have a chest at the top (usually they are not in the villages in my experience), then there are the common wooden scaffolding ones with again about 3 levels of ladders high and those are in the villages. I guess that's the towers you're referring to?

I guess the wooden ones are easy to check if there are vesvigirs since you can see between the wooden supports. I guess I'll run through villages quickly without clearing and do that strategy.

Just to clarify, have all the vesvigirs you've seen spawn at ground level at the towers? If so, it probably isn't worth my time looking/walking up ladders.

As for the totems, I already have 10ish, so plenty to spawn the boss. My world is set to a 1.5x drop multiplier but I would have had enough already even without that.

I wonder if they can spawn technically anywhere... I might run a test on another world to check.

The tiny stonehenge type structures is the only place I have ever found them.

check the stonehenges, all variations. there are several.

no villages, no rectangular "slab" buildings, no towers, just stonehenges.

I think they were all on the ground but at this point its hard to recall. Like many I spent a long time in the plains pre-mistlands, and not so much since... that was 2 years back ... hard to recall that level of detail.
But yes, the towers with a fence around them are for sure. The tall ones inside villages ... I just don't recall if its the same models & therefore a spawn point or not.

^^ what he said is 'easier' but may miss some. The stone outbuildings are easy to see, very little defense, and frequent spawn points.

I think I only ever found it at a Stonehenge.

Usually would find it out exploring or going somewhere else.

They're really rare and I found the only one I've ever found at a Stonehenge site.

I spent ages trashing vill's, then ended up spotting the fingers from a boat, it can be painful, oh yeh, he hurts you too, lol

Thanks for the responses. I ended up testing a new world and flying around Plains biomes and looking in every village, tower... anything and everything in the biome.

Not very scientific, but after going through about 10 plains biomes, 20+ villages and a similar number of towers, I found not one Yagluth vesvigir there.

I found 9 stonehenge sites, 2 of them were circles of stonehenge and 1 was broken in half, and another was a different style of stones in a circle. The remaining 5 were stand-alone stonehenge sites. I found 4 vesvigirs there.
So to conclude:
1) I assume a probable rate of 50% chance of finding a vesvigir per stonehenge.
2) The average rate of coming across a stonehenge is roughly 1 per 2 large plains biomes.
3) Fuling villages, towers and monuments don't seem to ever spawn the vesvigirs.

Might be easier if you check the world generator[valheim-map.world]. In the left set of keys, select Runestones::Boss Vegvisir.

Per the wiki[valheim.fandom.com] Yagluth's vegvisir will appear in the stonehenge formations which might be close to a Fuling village (or may not).

Using the above generator and a random seed, I could count 10 Yagluth vegvisir in the entire map. Contrast this with over 20 for the latest Forsaken whose vegvisir are confined to a much smaller part of the map. Also, these will be localized. As there are multiple Yagluth summoning altars so too a vegvisir will point to the most adjacent of his locations. Consequently, if you are only exploring 1/4 of the map, it is likely you are only going to have between 2 to 3 of the above noted vegvisir in your area making it perhaps the most rare vegvisir of any in the game.

I usually find Yag's site when mapping via boat. I can usually see it at a pretty far distance from on the water.

I remember finding Yagluth's vegvisir in those little temples with a chest on the second floor. And in stonehenges, of course.
I don't remember vegvisirs spawning in villages nor in fuling towers.
