Extinguishing fire

I'm curious about this. Is there a way to extinguish fire in the game? Because I haven't figured it out yet and it seems extremly weird to me that they would add a fire spreading mechanic into the game without giving us a way to extinguish it.

And I know that it's turned off on default for biomes outside Ashlands, but if someone wanted to turn that on, would they just have no way of stopping the fire if it spread? Especially since it's a new thing, I would assume that there's a learning curve on what the game will allow you to do safely.

What am I missing?

Sure, but that's an endgame item. But what if someone wanted to start a new world and turn on the fire spread?

I delete the items on fire, or continuously repair them till the fire subsides.
