Minimap/Map Display Bug – Wrong Location Shown

Hi everyone,

I’m encountering an issue where the mini map (or main map) displays incorrect locations. For example:

When I’m on land, the map shows me in the middle of the ocean.

When I’m in the ocean, it shows me on land.

I’ve already verified the game files multiple times, but the bug persists. Has anyone else experienced this? Any fixes or suggestions?

How old is the map? Was it before the ashlands and mistlands updates? You may have gotten a bugged generation after those updates.

Try making a new world and see if it still happens there. If it doesn't then the problem is that specific worldsave. Otherwise you likely have an old mod file sitting around and you need to uninstall the game and wipe all the leftover non-steam files and reinstall.

Yeah there are likely leftover mods from long ago. That's where I'd start.
