Anything that increases the distance of wisplight and torches.
There are no essential mods to play solo. Not needed at all.

If you have completed a vanilla run then you would probably be better served by asking about mods that address what you felt were issues you found in that run.

No mods are essential, but if you want to improve your life then I'd suggest Torches Eternal, Mass Farming (or another farming mod), and Equipment And Quickslots. Just be aware that those last two sometimes get broken by major patches and it can take a day or two for them to get updated.
Per the title, None,
Per my Opinion, Craft from Storage, "I forget this name"( the mod that lets you feed animals from storage) Farmgrid and lastly "High map unlimited" those are the only ones i really prefer not to play without, but i can live without.
I'm with Eightball on this. I'd finish a solo run in vanilla first, then decide if there was anything you felt lacking that you'd like to alter. I genuinely think that if you finish out a run in vanilla first you'll wind up improving your comprehension of the gameplay systems by a wide margin and have a significantly easier time in future games, modded or not.

This sums it up very well.

I played a bit and already ran into some things i didn't like as for the small stack size, stamina consumption while building, and not being able to craft from storage so i ended up getting 3 mods so far just for those things a small increase nothing too crazy. I haven't play too much but so far everything feels great.

Right on, man. After all, it is your game and your experience - tailor it to suit your needs, we are only offering suggestions. Happy to hear you're enjoying it overall so far!
Teleporteverything is the only one I'm finding essential, the game gets tedious enough at times without having to transport ores in small amounts on a karve because of the arbitrary restriction.
The mod lets me go out and gather my ores, it doesn't drop the overall difficulty just the annoying 20min boat rides to my base.

Better archery is a nice QOL mod but I wouldn't call it essential.

You can set the option to teleport everything in the world modifiers in game, so no mod needed for that anymore. I wouldn't start with that on though for a first playthough.

With regard to OP:s question, I don't think that there are any essential mods. If something starts to annoy you, then see if there is a mod for it. After 2000h, and various challenge runs, I play mostly vanilla, with a few UI related mods. Like adding a trashcan to the inventory screen.
None are required. I play with none until I reach mistlands and then I only use mistbegone, not only because I'm visually impaired but because mistlands mist is computer resource intensive and mistbegone eliminates the lag when playing in the mistlands.

Any other mods are personal preference. For me, any time I get a new game I play through on default settings to see how the devs intended the game to be played and mod to my preferences after if needed (which is rare).

No mods are essential.

The World Modifier options will meet most of your needs.

I have also had some fun with mods. I like the EpicLoot mod. I would not use this mod on your first play through. It does give a different experience if you replay the game.
