Difficulty finding the infested Citadel
I'm playing with a friend and we've already done around 20 infested Mines, and we still haven't found the rune with the Queen's location, should I be worried? Is it really that rare??

I had a similar issue with the plain boss. I also played that campaign with a friend and we explored and explored. We gone through like 10 plains before we finally found it. sadly you are likely simply unlucky, just like me and my friend were. there is a way to check it for certain in the files I believe, but I am not quite sure how, prob someone will link it here for you, or can find it in another disscussion, I do see it pop up here and there.
if you dont mind spoilers and the likes you can use this tool, just type in your seed or load up your files and find it.

That website will let you know where it is, otherwise keep checking the mines. The vegvesvir or however it is spelled will be hidden a little better in those mines. You need to look behind pillars, look up higher than you think, etc... They really hide it in this biome

I used the same tool when I lost all hope, 20+ infested mines has been explored and over a hundred hours spent clearing each one and finding the a rune stone just to fight the queen. This somehow kills the immersion of finding the boss but certainly if you want to save time this is the answer. Easy to use and navigate the tool.

Yeah there's clearly an issue with the RNG in the game and it can have dramatic effects on anything and everything. In the earlier biomes we always found a vegvisir within the first half an hour, in the plains it took ages and in the mistlands it took a ♥♥♥♥♥-ton of mines before we find it. But then again, afterwards you'll probably be thankful about all the carapace and blood clots you accumulated while clearing out the dozens of mines...

I have played quite a lot of worlds meanwhile, and usually I stumble across the vegvisir before I have found my 15 black cores for all the gear... So that's really bad luck, but not that bad actually.

Keep in mind that the mines are the best source for royal jelly and the only source for black cores. Both will prove useful in the ashlands.
So you win either way, if you find the queen or if you find more useful stuff.

Especially the cores, you might be glad to have some of these later.

They can sometimes spawn down those misty pits filled with seekers. Could be easy to overlook.
20 mines? maybe try 10 more.
that queen is HARD so no rush
