A possible (but maybe risky) alternative might be to just throw food to their spawn point, run away until they stop chasing you and sneak back until the taming process starts.
Stay hidden until it's done.
But in the end it will turn out that a pit or an earth wall is still the best you can do.

Plus, taming the asksvin is only step 1. You want two to start making eggs and while they are doing that they need to be protected with a roof and/or a shield.

Bring those eggs to a safe area and once again a pit is safest to breed more as even your tamed herd seem to have a mind of their own and will bust down any fence you try to pen them in with to go after neck, deer, boar and any other unfortunate Meadows creature that wanders by.

And if you are going to expend the effort to tame some asksvin, go for the 1-star or, if you are truly lucky, the 2-star. Breed about 100 of them and hatch the eggs in a Fader enclosure. The Emerald Flame only lasts a few minutes against the thundering herd

Doesnt have to be a pit. You could also just raise the earth alternatively as a walling off.
Or you could change settings in your world modifier settings to cause aggressive creatures to be passive until attacked as well but that's not for everyone.
