"What happens to my world when there’s a big update?
Any update to the game that adds new content fixed in the world (such as new terrain, buildings or dungeons) will only be applied to previously unexplored areas. An unexplored area is an area where no player has set foot, including a radius of about 500 metres. When new updates are released, you will either need to travel to new areas or start a new world to experience the new content. The reason for updates not affecting previously explored areas is mainly to avoid ruining player-built structures."
OP: I fell through the ice, you lied! Waaaah.
Community: they warned you not to walk *there*!
OP: I only want to read the first sentence and complain.
Community: ok
-Do x.
OP: I leave because X happenned.
Community: You knew X was going to happen, it's you fault.
You were warned, repeatedly. It is your fault.
A normal person would go, "well damn, that sucks!" and either find something else to play, or they'd try again, armed with experience.
Making it the crux of your personality to let the world know at every opportunity you feel put-upon by a piece of software is one of the most choices of all time, I have to say.
From the May update:
https://valheim.com/support/getting-ready-for-the-ashlands/
To better highlight for you from the first sentence of the second paragraph:
To highlight even more for you from that sentence:
This is what caught you (and as I mentioned before, my own situation as well).
They even showed pictures of how that would end up looking/occuring.
They warned(as we've been telling you for pages and pages now). You just simply didnt pay attention/heed the warning.

More bluntly, you're agreeing to buy and play a game in early access "As Is" and with the caveat that it is and will almost guaranteed be "subject to change."
You've had warnings and caveat emptors but still are ranting against the devs because your built upon location was subject to change, warned about and then wish to blame the devs and acted surprised.
At this point you're just aimlessly axe-grinding really.
All you say is true.
The website is STILL misleading people by saying this :
"When new updates are released, you will either need to travel to new areas or start a new world to experience the new content. The reason for updates not affecting previously explored areas is mainly to avoid ruining player-built structures."
My comment is just one of many exemple of people leaving the game because of choices the devs made. And serves as a "warning" for them to try their best to avoid this kind of changes to the world in the future for their own good.
It's as if people here are happy that the dev make these changes making players quit their game... It doesn't make any sense.
My guy, give it up. You made yourself mad at the start, and now that you've been shown repeatedly that anger has no merit to it, you're making yourself out to be a fool by doublng-down time and again.
Either give the game another shot, or uninstall and find something more productive to do with your time. This is pathetic.
All i've done is make a post explaining why i think the last update was bad for some reason, and then people came to invalidate my opinion and defend their game in which they put 1000+ hours. And i've just stood my ground against them.
I have no reasons to let people say things that are not true or deny reality. If people stopped responding then i would just forget the existence of that thread too. A mod could also close the thread, i wpould like if they could do that tbh because this is getting annoying and unproductive.
But if the thread is open and people keep acting as if there is no problem with the update then i will keep responding.
