Are the Bosses too easy?

Now to be completely fair, this is our second Run, so we know what were going up against and we always go in 100% prepared, but even on our first run, completely blind, we had no problems with any of the Bosses.

The Main Problem seems to be that with a group of people one Player will just kite the Boss around while the other Players basically stand there and beat chunks out of his massive health bar until he finally goes down.

Bosses are slow and even worse get stuck often, moving very clumsily, which also breaks the immersion a lot in what should be an epic conclusion to the Biome.

The Devs adressed this by simply raising the HP and Damage output as far I know, but that not makes the fight harder really, just longer.

There are a million ways to diversify a bossfight, as seen in countless other games, so I really hope the Devs will spice this up a bit with Full Release. After all, they want their game to be hard, in their own words, but at the moment the boss fights surely are not.

Agree. Me and my mate finished everything pretty handily about 2 weeks ago and im doing a solo run now. Just went into the mistlands. The bosses are mostly just damage sponges. Perhaps even more so with solo play.

Not much challenge because of the mechanics which is a shame. Hope they add some extra movesets or abilities to bosses later on. Honestly i have more trouble getting swarmed by starred enemies than i have fighting bosses. Yagluth and the Queen is just a really large hp pool but thats mostly it.

Kind of like the 'souls' games the difficulty is in figuring out a pattern before you die. Once you figure out the pattern it's more or less a cake walk. Aim to be like that guy that fights the Final Boss in Elden Ring naked.

solo player aka me finds it to easy. i wood love it if when you get the health all the way down it heals and gets faster and has new way for the boss to move and attack

I would wish for a toggle in the menu to make the boss fights more difficult. Also, if the fights scaled with having more players, as well.

Valhiem+ allows you to adjust the difficulty. Among other amazing quality of life things.

Most of them are just plain slow, borderline helpless. Like all fights, having more people makes things quicker because everyone who hasn't got aggro can pour all their stamina into damage, but solo is still pretty easy. Solo is just a slow burn, that doesn't afford too many mistakes, but mistakes are really hard to make.

I'd rather take on something that is way more dangerous, but also doesn't take 5+ minutes to finally kill. And if it does take 5+ minutes it better be because they have more than one phase. In terms of behaviour Eikthyr probably would have been one of the better ones if not for its duty as a weak tutorial boss.

I would give the devs big props if they made an 'elite' endgame variant of every boss. But then again, they would probably design them to take ten years to kill.

I've never had a lot of problems against any of the bosses myself, only boss which ever managed to kill me was Moder when she bugged out and i got stuck under her and she rapidly attacked me and just wouldn't lift off.

have you ever tried playing a dedicated server with mods and 8+ people? yeah, literally impossible. the massive desyncs are just killing the game then, vanilla is the only option right now

They can't even push out a single biome update in under 1.5 years, so I wouldn't rely on the devs to add difficulty. As usual, modders have added more to the game than the devs, which is pathetic if we're being objectively honest here.

If you want to up your game, try any or all of the following:

This is just a handful of modded content that is out there, but is enough to prove the dev's ineptitude in creating their own.

I'm solo and so far all 3 have been braindead easy, especially the first 2. I died to bonemass once mostly because a wraith joined the party. Like you said they need a more varied moveset, they are too predictable. Group play must be an absolute cakewalk. Exploring has been fun and challenging so far, but bosses don'f feel like the end of biome challenge they should be.

I'm actually on a server right now with Valheim + with 10 of us and it's fine.. we have only had a few issues and they were all in Mistlands.. something about the fog/mist.

They seem to be just fine in my experience, whether in solo or in group. A lot of players have struggled with bosses, there's no reason to make them harder than they are right now because the entire progression and difficulty curve isn't yet at its end anyway.
