I was already planning on skipping the dead raiser. I really don't see the point.
I went into the skull with the expectation that the skeletons would be little more than a distraction for the enemies and that turns to be all they're good for. Maybe with mods that can be different. I know there's already a mod that uses the deadraisers mechanics in a staff that lets you summon all types of friendly npcs like dragur and such. The trouble is the game doesn't have any targeting commands at all, so you're at the mercy of whoever the skeletons decide to fight with.
-now- im somewhat dissapointed.
i love this game, thats why i even bothered to write this
I hope they will be stronger at higher levels of blood magic.
I was excited when I saw the Dvergr mages using spells, napalm fireball storms, cold nova, homing explodey boi, literal healing....then I made the staves myself...it was like a euphemism for the entire game...

i alrady buildt a greydwarf training facility, but. i was bored at 28 bloodmagic. so i headed out to explore, just to lose the progression :O
IMO the skeles agro range is quite short. By the time bow skele starts firing it's almost melee time. They're useful for leech farming I guess 🤷🏻♂️.

The skeletons have too much trouble following you...even in dungeons where you would expect them to be most useful. I don't think they need to be any more or less powerful...just better able to follow you.
And I have to second your thoughts about the Dvergr mages. Holy cow, can they do some kickarse stuff! I want their staves. I will gladly trade mine for theirs...
I will agree that the skeletons are rather lack luster. I wish the devs added like 2 skeleton variations for enemies and the summons that have fragments of armor. Both mountains and plains could use such enemies when they spawn during the night or in the odd mountain ruin.
Make sure you have a rest spot though if you are farming drauger spawns otherwise your exp gain will be bad.
actually i have a double spawner next to eachoder. maybe i can build something fancy trainig facility in the middle? will se
