Bog Witch
I'd just like to double-check with you guys; if I created my world prior to the Bog Witch update, but have only explored like 15% of the total map, will the witch's hut spawn in an unexplored area farther out? Or, do I need to create a new world to access her?

Right on, thank you mang
Follow-up question, and try to answer without spoilers/specifics if possible, would you guys say that she's important for progression? Does she sell ingredients that are useful up through Plains? I feel like I'm getting by just fine right now with Wolf Skewers / Eye Scream / whatever, but if I can unlock some fun new potions by visiting her then I'm excited for that. I try not to use the Wiki in general, again just to avoid spoilers.

There are potions but you need to buy some ingredients from her.
And there's a new variation of food unlocked depending on how many
biomes you've visited but again you need to purchase some new spices
to make them. And a new tool is unlocked.
I'm not sure any of it is NECESSARY for progress but it is QOL.
Okay thanks for clarifying, that's kinda what I suspected based on the higher-level patch notes. I'll keep her on my to-do list (lol)
I'm actually of the opinion, that, although she may not be NECESSARY for progress, I think the bog witch is ESSENTIAL to a GOOD progress. The feasts where game changers for me. Beginning with Plains, food is much more of a chore than previously (especially when compared to the Mountains, where good food is super easy to come by).

Feasts makes the food chore MUCH easier and you can stick with older food for much longer.

I'm right now in the Mistlands, and I get by with the Mountain Stew, Plains Picnic and either Sausages or Wolf Skewer. Mind, that is only TWO Lox Pies for TEN meals. You need much less barley and lox meat as you usually would.

To me, finding the bog witch is absolutely essential.

Oh damn, I'd completely forgotten about the feast mechanic. Yeah I'm definitely going to go exploring for her now. Thanks for the reminder!

I'm currently gearing up to solo-melee Moder, so I think I'm going to need all the advantages I can get.

You're very welcome. :) And good luck with Moder! Stick to the silver sword and use the bow only if you're good at it. I suck at bows, and I really didn't need it the last time.
