Out in the world you may come across a stone that is slightly larger than other stones with a somewhat smoother texture, akin to grausten. The hovered name of it will be "rock" instead of "stone." Once you pick this up you'll unlock the recipe to make a new pet rock, assuming you've also touched coal.

You may need to check Meadows areas that haven't yet been explored on a map seed generated prior to the April Fool's update.
