You did do the thing i would've suggested which is spamming the blood shield with a high healpool, so you've as low hp as possible, whilst having a shield so you don't get oneshot, and get to maximize the damage. 200 hp missing is 40% damage increase. Percentages are obviously more significant on bigger numbers, which is why it'd be best on a Slayer, where you use the secondary attack the most.
A tier 2 Brutal Slayer has a maximum damage potential of 528, slap a 40% damage bonus on that and that's 739.2 damage, so 211.2 extra damage. It's primary combo at the same maximum damage at tier 2, would be 704 damage, a 40% damage bonus to that is 985.6, 281.6 extra damage.
But in terms of dps, spamming secondary attack with the Brutal slayer with 200 health missing is 342.2. Primary attack dps is 285.7.
Plus, a brutal slayer is probably the safest option to when spamming m2. The range, knockback and on hit rather than 3 is best when you have low health.
It's just how it is, bloodstone kinda sucks because of that since it's very situational and needs a lot more work to make it work at it's best than just using the others. I mean i used the Jade Slayer for Fader, and the damage was good, and the CC was obviously ridiculously power. Iolite will always be the best for raw damage on quicker weapons, and most likely the slayer too i'd imagine. Jade is basically the equivalent of the frost effect whilst still giving bonus damage. Bloodstone, is the best damage boost for high damage weapons, but until they add some sort of potion or buff that gives you a bonus to something but drains your health for it's duration, then bloodstone will be just too niche.
It'd be fun to see a potion or buff that gives you say, 15-25% damage boost, whilst draining 3-8 health a second (too lazy to find an appropriate number. And where you could combine that damage boost multiplicatively with a blood weapon, specifically a brutal slayer, so your health regen doesn't screw over your damage, whilst further boosting your damage.
I used staff shield and skull then cut trees with bloodaxe.
Yes, somehow that seems to be the way to go. However, you have the constant fiddling with the rod of protection. And it only becomes “safe”, so to speak, through the use of the Ashlands fish meal. I don't think an Eitrfood is a good alternative for this playstyle (H+S+E Food).
I'll give the brutal Slayer a try. I was also hoping, for example, that the mace would achieve a better result when staggering. However, the knockback of the enemies to the other side of the world is not so cool.
Unfortunately, it's no longer like with the Iron Mace. The knockback against the Draugr didn't drive them so far away and you could still perform good combos with the mace. Well... I'll try out the brutal Slayer. It's probably/maybe better than the Iolite variant. (Or they are an even match in power)
It would be cool if we could get away from this situational state a bit. It sounds good on paper, but it would have to be the same in practice. But maybe I'm not getting behind the developers' thoughts. As for the stones, it was said that they are equal in power. But as you said. It depends on the weapon.
As far as a buff or a potion is concerned. Maybe we're constantly freezing again, that we don't even need that in the Deep North. :D But I agree. That's also the idea behind the life steal. A complement to the bloodstone weapons in some way.
That sounds fun. I'll try it out the next time I clear the woods. These are just the right ideas. :D
You can use trollstaff in mining copper, plus 2 trolls makes it a bit easier to mine without destroying the ground.
BTW, for stone farming, the root tendril staff works really well so long as it's spanking something. trollstaff or wild mobs. most prob know this, but there it is. donno if it works on ore tho.
I read about this some time ago but haven't tried it myself yet. There was also another device that achieved a similar effect with steam and pistons. But at the end of the day, it's up to you to decide whether to deal with the trolls or the fiddling with the positioning of the ram. But I will give it a try. One project still needs a lot of copper. And if it's as good as the thing with the axes, then it'll be peak efficiency again.
@i have 2026 vision fear me
the brutal Slayer and the Ashlands feast is the way to go. I also wanted to try out again whether, for example, the crossbow version might also be nice. Of course, many enemies have pierce resistance, but maybe you can do more with the increased damage from the bloodstones. In the end, you can also get 10% more pierce damage with the Askset. maybe maybe it is good.
