How does one get enough Resin after defeating Elder?
Deer(Dear) forum members,

I rely on the "Forest is Moving" raids to fill up my resin stores. I just get enough that way cause I like to keep my decent size base lit. With lit up garden paths and dock etc....

So if I kill elder and don't get those forest moving raids that drop resin, do I have to live in the dark after that? I can see having to constantly be in black forest so I can kill enough greydwraves. Don't want to be stuck to that biome just to get resin.

Sincerely,
a resin addict.

just walk in the forest and don't destroy the spawns. there should be enough greylings to farm resin from. Also the raids dont stop when you kill the elder.

they do change from black forest mobs to swamp mobs though

Killing the Elder does stop "The Forest is Moving" raids. It also allows greydwarves, greydwarf brutes, and greydwarf shamans to spawn in the Meadows at night.

You will still get resin delivered to your door, but only at night and in much smaller quantities.

You might have to fall back on chopping/bashing saplings and greylings.

The little saplings in the meadows will often drop resin.

In the end though if you have a lot of lights you really can't reasonably keep up with it.
Best to be more selective on light placement or just console it in.

Another option is to use sources of light that do not require fuel like surtling trophies or dragon eggs or wards or something.

Oh good news that they will spawn in meadows. My main base borders meadows and forest. I can just go out at night then and start chopping wood, that should bring all spawns my way for mopping up. :D

Stagbreaker works really well clearing tight groups of saplings in the meadows that drop resin. That would be the way I would farm resin if I didn't pop every grey I see, which I do and rarely have a resin deficiency.

In my experience they drop quite a bit of resin. Harvesting the saplings can usually be done in just one or two strikes with an axe, so you can mow down a lot of them quickly. It also has the benefit of clearing the forests around your base making it easier to move, see enemies, and fight. And you also get a lot of wood.

iron torches seem to burn through resin much more slowly

Wait, how much resin are you going through? Do I even want to know what you're doing with it?? I often end up just dropping it to get it out of my inventory, since I can't take 10 steps without picking it up and there are already stacks of the stuff taking up chest space.

But yeah black forest will get you all you need, and if you need a lot in a hurry then just find a grey dwarf spawner (or try to mine some copper) and go to town. Especially at night.

I was going to say this right here, haha. I used Stagbreaker (and now, Iron Sledge) for clearing out Saplings when I'm short on Wood and don't want to raze a forest. I now have so much Resin I'm not sure what to do with it.

That aside, though, after you defeat Bonemass, the "Foul Smell from the Swamp" raid changes from Draugr & Skeletons, to I think.. Blobs and Skeletons?, but more importantly, allows Skeletons to spawn in the Meadows at night.

Greydwarves and Skeletons don't get along.. so if you rest at night, wake up, and just go run around your base area, there'll be Wood, Stone, Greydwarf Eyes, and Resin just lying around everywhere. :)
