So here is one of the roots of the harpoon problem - alternate uses it was not designed for - and if the devs decide that they do not want some of those alternate uses they should restrict the targets that can be hit properly by the harpoon - not nerf the stamina ...
Might be situational but once the serpent has aggro'd me I sail to shore and it follows. It's not until I jump from the boat I harpoon it. Certainly, my ocean biome goes quite close to the shore which might allow this as I'm fairly sure if you have a large amount of shallow water covered by another biome the serpent will lose interest.
This is largely pointless though as I don't need scales or trophies per se.
Nah its not the game stamina system is that u dont get how works their progression yet
As for the serpent... Just range it? I mean just kill it with a bow in the water. The meat doesn't sink to the bottom. This is how I did it before I even had the harpoon.
