The Cart - The most useless invention

I'm far south from my main base and have a full chest-worth of iron. I made a cart to haul it all up to my main site when i can 't even make it even slightly uphill. Am i missing something?

The cart is entirely worthless unless the terrain is completely flat, which is comically impossible.

Yep, it's absolutely useless later in the game when you have portals. And the fact that people use the carts as chest-replacements just shows how much the thing has missed its function ^^''.

I don't think anyone is asking you to fly around with it. But that you, to transport a lot of Ore, must first make a completely smooth road with hoe and pickaxe is really a joke. Do that when you have to cover a longer distance with it, with mountains and hills in the way. I've already done that to help a friend and it was terrible. I've also transported silver where we have divided everything and the cart were not even half full and it was still the worst thing I've done in the game and which is why I had turned it off for the time being ~~.

Definitely needs a makeover. I had already talked with a fellow player on my old server about this, why there is no skill that makes you stronger over time and therefore it gets easier to pull the thing.

I have not once ever made a road in order to use a cart, and I've still used them extensively in order to save myself multiple trips when hauling scrap iron or copper ore from inland crypts/deposits to the coast.

I actually use portals because my base is very large. I also use a portal to get to the center and top of my tower :p.
But the point here is that the part is useless when it comes to what you need it most urgently is clear to you, right? Wood and everything you can bring through portals. Ore has to be transported laboriously by cart if there is no water nearby. Or run a thousand times from a to b. Yep that's super fun I bet that keeps people playing :).

Considering the game has sold millions like this, yes lol, i definitely think the state of portals, ore, and carts is fine.

And they still aren't useless for transporting ore 🤷

I had about 30 stacks of iron on a long boat and in a cart riding on the boat, sailed them to my port. It then took about 3 trips with the cart to get them to the base along a flattened path to my main base. I had to sprint and zigzag up a few steeper inclines. I think the cart works perfectly well other than getting it through an iron gate.

Ah yea, I stopped reading when you started by calling it "useless", even in later parts of the game. No one's using a portal to travel 5-10 feet for materials and running back and forth to chests is a waste. It has it's uses but because players can't fill it to the brim and run full speed- it's "useless"
