The Cart - The most useless invention
I'm far south from my main base and have a full chest-worth of iron. I made a cart to haul it all up to my main site when i can 't even make it even slightly uphill. Am i missing something?

The cart is entirely worthless unless the terrain is completely flat, which is comically impossible.

Don't fill it full of ore.

Kinda defeats the purpose of it.

Makes a good (large) storage chest if you park it the corner ;)

Dont listen to the previous poster. Fill it full of ore, and use it as a hammer to forge your cart in the blood of your enemies. Theres a reason it came with square wheels.
Solo? Yeah, couldn't find much use for a cart.

In multiplayer you just have a friend stand in the cart with their inventory full of ore. The weight only seems to translate from the cart inventory, not from players carrying several tons of iron standing in it :P

You can carry other things in the cart other than ore. Put some ore in it. Put some other things in it. Inventory space is a resource.

Shhh, some people believe it's suppose to be infinite. Not much of a resource if it's infinite.

build roads (suddenly)
use regular stairs (not ladder) and then 2 flat floors for slopes (repeat if necessary)

The cart gets heavier the more weight you put it in, gee who would have thought.

Nothing wrong with the cart.

No it doesn't. If you're having trouble hauling the cart with a full load, then don't load it fully. A half full cart that you can move is more useful than either a full cart you can't move or no cart at all.

But a full cart you actually COULD move would be even more useful XD

Maybe the crappy starter cart won't be the only cart we get.

Sure, and 320 inventory spaces would be more useful than 32, but it's the challenges that make the game a game.

Well, lox are tameable, and an asset already exists for a lox-sized wagon.

But until and unless a cart upgrade is implemented, people will just have to deal with it by making two cart runs rather than one (or 18 runs with no cart at all).

You can if you've made a fairly flat road beforehand. Like everything else in Valheim time and effort makes life easier.

Op said his base is uphill. Making a flat road doesn't negate the height difference, unless they add elevators to Valheim XD
