Valheim

My eyes hurt after playing
Guys, I noticed after the game that my eyes turn red, as if blood vessels burst. There is no such thing after other games. I have a modern computer and everything is running at max. Maybe it's worth removing some settings? Has anyone encountered this?

some games do irritate some people. Settings are often the key, other times you just have to step away or know when to not look. For example, a 2d space game called endless sky that I love flashes the screen every few seconds if you take a long trip with many hyperspace jumps, and I just close my eyes and wait it out. If you can isolate one thing that is causing it, ... like say, playing in the mistlands...

It could be the style. The game is ... blurry isn't exactly the right word... but 'watercolored' or something in a way that your brain may be trying to focus/squint etc to see details that don't exist, causing strain. Or it could be some lighting effect, or who knows what else.

Did you try checking up with a doctor?

It's just a case of not blinking enough, your eyes dry up. Happens to many in PvP games such as League of Legends.

But yea, go see a doctor, you shouldn't have that in Valheim of all things...
This is not normal. As mentioned before visit a doctor if that keeps happening. It´s certainly not related to the graphics of the game.

No, it's related to this particular game, I've already had such cases with some games, but it's good that they weren't particularly interesting to me and I abandoned them =) It's just that someone may have encountered this and may have disabled some effect in the game, such as glow or something else.

You could try increasing the resolution to increase the sharpness and also disable depth of field. Doing this lessens the blurryness which is always stressful for the eyes.

Blink!! you are NOT giving your eyes a chance to re moisturise your eyeballs... Try forcing your eyes closed for a full minute and they will water..may help.. probably stings for the first moment or two. if this doesnt happen (watering of eye) off to the doctor.. you may be dehydrated or ... something

Guys, thanks to everyone who responded. Once again, I am convinced that Americans are much more friendly than ours =) Ours will rarely answer the case, rather they will tease and ridicule =)
20/20/20 rule. Every 20 minutes or so, look at something 20 feet (~6 Meters) away for 20 seconds. Endurance gamers use this to great effect.

This. Especially if you wear contact lenses, suffer from aqueous tear deficiency (you might not even know if you haven't been checked), and have some form of night blindness. I'm visually impaired so this is a problem for me too. Check with your optometrist. Dry eye can be solved for some people by using saline or some form of artificial tears.
This Discussion should be a Sticky on every Video Game Forum.. Cos Eyes.. you only get one set!

Its from staring at your monitor and not blinking making your eyes irritated and dry.. happens to me when i play PUBG i zone in so hard i forget to blink and then i look like iv been drinking heavily but no just playing PUBG which is equally as bad for my health as drinking
