Odd message on death

Wife and I were playing last night and got TPK'd in a sunken crypt (got pinned by a leveled Drauger Elite). Anyhow - when my wife respawned, she said she got a message at the bottom of her screen that was several lines of text but went too fast to read, something about (and this is very fuzzy) "are you really there or was it a dream" or something to that effect.

She was emphatic that it was NOT the normal blue-text-on-black-screen dream popup, and I looked through the wiki to see if any of the words or phrases she mentioned popped up in any of the dream texts and none of them come close.

Any idea what the message was she saw? Are these new flavor text popups of some kind?

no but i think there has been a slight update as i saw my comfort level printed when i woke from a sleep.yesterday....about to play again now [edit] nope slept 3 or 4 times no comfort lvl msg.. hmm

Yeah, we had both just gotten shanked. It happened as she was waking up from respawn.

If you have a mounted head of a boss on your wall at your base respawn they will on occasion 'talk' and usually accompanied with a crying sound as well, you will see what they say in text flashing on the screen briefly, my guess that is what it was.

Correct mounting boss heads or heads that have dialogue will cause the heads to talk/cry. Its super awkward and me and buddy spent hours looking for the ♥♥♥♥ till we finally realized it was the deer boss skull hung above my sisters bed in her great hall style house XD which was mounted way up high out of the way.
my sissy got a great laugh out of it when we finally asked her if she knew anything about it and she said yeah! that's why she hung it up.
it looks great and it adds a bit of dialogue to a pretty dialogue barren game =)
