At end game... not really. Two bosses (Bonemass and Yagluth) have extreme resistance against Pierce damage, which is a whopping 75% damage reduction. Even assuming you have Spears at 100 with a maxed Fang Spear, you're still only looking at around 20 damage per stab, and that'll take ages to do any meaningful damage.
Now, you could main two different weapon types and effectively engage anything. I plan on making a character who uses non-tower shields, spears and swords, since that should effectively eliminate every enemy in the game.
I guess I wasn't clear earlier; I'll be using the torch as weapon in burial chambers which adds to blunt weapon skill and thus opens up a secondary weapon skill. I also plan on using stagbreaker as my AoE weapon which also relies upon blunt weapon skill.
As for swords; pretty sure Bonemass is just as resistant to slashing as piercing.. unless something has changed?
I feel like the first person mod is an absolute must. it allows for better terrain battles, you can actually swing up like in real life@!!@!@
I did see the 1P mod. Might need to try that if I can figure out how mods work.
