6 Bosses raided my base
Hi,

I was playing with 2 friends on my seed (no mods, normal survival mode) my base was raided by 6 bosses within 2 hours. First 3 times moder spawned in my home or nearby, then eikthyr was in my base. As soon as we killed him the slime boss, bonemass spawned. After we killed him and all the minions. We tried to clean up the mess. My base was 50% destroyed.
After one friend left, another one joined and I told and showed him what happened. Then suddenly the 6th boss Yagluth spawned again in my base. We managed to kill him but
now my base is destroyed to 85%.
This all hapened within 1-2 hours. The bosses spawned directly one after one.

How can this be? Is this really work as intended? Is this also happen to other players?

I´m looking forward to hear if this happened also to other players.

Many thx

Bosses don't raid bases in vanilla as they require materials to be summoned at their respective altars. You have mods and just forgot to disable them.

There is an imposter in your friends list.

Good morning together,

thx for your feedback. But as I told in my mainpost I´m not using any mods even not my two friends. One of my friends is quite new in the game the other friend reactivated his character for a while.
We played on my seed and as I told before I´m only using normal survival mode and I´m 100% sure that no one of my friends using mods or console comands.

Maybe its because of my progress in the game. Me and also 1 of my friends allready killed the 5 available bosses in the game by normal summoning them.

The strange thing now is that we get ingame messages as warning before. For example before moder spawned there was a message ingame that says "moder is angry" or "the twisted soul of yagluth is summoned" Please be in mind that I play in german, so the translation is maybe not fully correct.
Even this was not the first time I was raided by a boss. A few weeks ago when I was also playing with a friend, moder came to my base and it was a hard fight. She destroyed 50% of my base before me and that friend was able to kill her. But after we killed her the game continued normal and I recreated my base.
But this time there were 3x times moder, eikthyr, bonemass and then after a bit of time yagluth also spawned nearby or in my base.

I have no clue what happened. I can only say it felt like armageddon...

So is there anyone who faced the same or similar situation?

The reason for writing here is, I also never thougt or heared that bosses raid the bases of players but pls believe it happened exact that way to me. Maybe someone here has a clue what triggered that or maybe how I can prevent this. Do I have to make a new seed (maybe my seed is broken?) and will this help?

Many thx for your help in advance!

Hope you can help me!

The Forsaken need to be summoned so thats why we all believe you are being Hacked/devcommands or similar... but can you post the seed you use im sure if it was somehow a broken seed people will enjoy the challenge.. but i seriously doubt it...its a people issue not a game issue

There is no 'believe' about it. Bosses don't raid bases. Games don't spontaneously generate code to do new things.

Seems like obvious fabrication to me. Don't feed the troll.

Why are you sure? Because they told you so?
Would someone who summones bosses with devcommands tell you the truth?

Deine Freunde verarschen dich!
I notice both times OP was playing with friends when the bosses happened. And while on one hand I would note that one friends name from the previous seed, I would also suggest OP test said friend variable by OP starting a map on their own, and playing it alone for awhile to see if the game *does* decide to spawn bosses on them. This is what is called a control group of an experiment.

Should the control server spawn no monsters, then you will know that the game itself is guaranteed to not be the problem and that you now have a list of friends to watch.

My next step would then be to play with your friends, and while playing, keep a close eye on the who is on list by pressing F4 or F2. This will bring up server stats and whoever is on at the time, including players who dont want to keep their name visible on the map. And when a boss suddenly appears to ruin your day...

You now have a list of people at hand who could have done the deed. And anyone trying to be sneaky by keeping their name invisible from the map will have all but painted a big red X on their chest.

Because if its vanilla, the game wont spawn bosses randomly. Someone is having a giggle at your expense. Or they might think its a funny prank to play.

Regardless of how long your friends have played or not played, the ONLY way, on vanilla game, to have bosses spawn at your base is to use console commands... something that can be "learned" in a matter of minutes, from watching videos or reading a guide.

Bosses, do not actually show up for raids, they send their minions to raid...

I have played through all the current content, numerous times, ALL vanilla and all solo, and I know for sure that bosses do not spawn at players base, ever, for any reason.

One of your friends DID do this and now it's your choice to be in denial or not, but one of them definitely did this.

If you are hosting the world locally, try a completely clean install. That should get rid of any corrupted or modified files, old mod residue, etc. It's usually helpful when players forget that they modded their installation at some point, or when mods don't delete all their changes in a uninstall.

++++++

Uninstall the game via Steam, then go to the install directory, default should be:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common

If there is still a Valheim folder, delete it manually (this will not affect your saves, they are stored somewhere else).

Reinstall the game via Steam.

Thy all ya for your feedback. After thinking about the situation yesterday I maybe get a clue what happened. After all of you tell me that bosses can´t spawn randomly to raid player bases I think that my seed got hacked. Maybe by a unknown person maybe one guy of my friendlist.
I will check that out. From now on I will use password protection for my seed.
Many thx again!

My friend, your answer is right in what you posted:
"The twisted soul of Yagluth IS SUMMONED"
(my caps).
Someone summoned him. If it wasn't you, it was your friend- who isn't exactly acting like a friend. Sorry.
