Major complaint when dying with Megingjords belt equipped
You cant retrieve your items all in one go if you died while wearing the belt and carrying over 300lbs worth of stuff. This is a big issue if you die around spawns while playing alone. Have fun dying 10 more times while getting you stuff back one by one....
Of course you can turn on god mode but that kind of sucks when the fix is simple, just make the belt auto equip when you loot your body so you can easily grab all your stuff at once OR make the belt a perk rather than a gear item.

Buy another belt then for just this sort of situation.
Or... make two corpse runs... get to your stuff, collect as much as you can and keep on running. Equip and go back for the rest.

Wait for daylight to remove night time spawns, deal with the remaining spawns somehow (bow/arrows/terrain), or try and sneak in for the corpse pick up so when you open the inventory you can equip the belt and then take everything.

If you plan out your retrieval strategy this is not much of an issue.

Yah, that's a tough one. Nothing really "auto-equips" other than weapons & tools dropping back into the same hotbar slots they were in when you died, as far as I can see.

Having the game remember the armor and accessories you were actively wearing at the time of death might be handy, and having it auto-equip the last worn "belt" item first would be beneficial. Then, at least it would just become a "2 interaction" scenario - first "take all" interaction on your corpse / death marker grabs your active equipment and equips belt, followed quickly by a 2nd "take all" that should then be able to pick up everything since the belt would be active.

As a side note, can you put the belt on your hotbar and activate it that way? I can't test that, but it might make for a little insurance / workaround. In theory, if you have the belt on your hotbar when you die, if you "take all" from your corpse it should show up on the hotbar, where you can toggle it active and then do another "take all" to get the rest of the stuff?

Just make sure your inventory is empty so that you pick everything up as soon as you click on your tombstone. Open the inventory, equip the belt. Easy.

Honestly, dying with a full inventory is more problematic, even with just doing completely naked corpse runs... not being able to pick everything up at once because you picked up a stray piece of wood or stone and don't have room to loot everything at once can kind of screw on over if you have to linger to sort it out, to try and figure which gear you need to make sure you pickup and equip first, rather than the ideal grab and run.

In the case of the weight limit, its the first thing to be reequipped.

Don't die then.

Easily avoided problem. Just another nitpick troll topic about not being properly prepared if you ask me.

Nobody did ask you though. Why do you bother posting replies like this? They're not helpful in any way. If it's easily avoidable, enlighten us all instead of being a condescending prick.

You are not entitled to always automatically get out of trouble without effort.

Some perspective, in the old days if you died at the end boss, you might have to start from the beginning of the game.

You are complaining that it takes 3 seconds to put on a belt.

Solution: If you are playing with any measure of competence you aren't dying frequently and you aren't rushing in naked to reclaim your gear. And player with an ounce of common sense has a set of backup gear at their spawn in case they die. This is a non-issue unless you are refusing to learn from mistakes and repeating the same poor choices over and over again.
TLDR: Git Gud

The belt doesn't increase the number of inventory slots, only the max weight. Hence, if not all the items can be retrieved, it means you tried doing so while having a non-empty inventory. This has nothing to do with the belt.

A potential problem with the belt is getting over-encumbered immediately after retrieving all items. Some time is needed to put the belt on, which may be critical if there are enemies camping the body.

Funny how people will complain just about anything. And this for some reason is described as a major one.

But yea feel free to turn on God mode over playing smart.
