Cant pause or slow the game while selecting as well.
Cant really change the basic scheme (attack , special attack and defend (which enables the dodge roll)).
I am not against the idea, I just am struggling to see how you would add it without breaking the control scheme of all the other weapons.
the summoned skeletons arent all that useful due to terrian issues to begin with and they are already MAXED out right now unlike the elemental staffs which have yet to get 2 more upgrades in the future.
the bubble staff. the oddball one. pretty much required if you wanna go full mage.
but given there is only 2 biomes left anyway i doubt that many tools will get released for magic to begin with.
its a choice for the player according to the devs. you can go full magic. you can also just use only 1 staff.
if you could cast everything without a tool magic would be grossly OP. and its already strong right now.
this isnt casulrim. and skyrims spell system was trash. in oblivion you could cast a fireball with a sword in hand. was removed for no good reason other than dumbing down.
About the staves, I use firstly the protection otherwise you can get hit kill, then I swap from fire to frost according to the enemies and summon skeletons so I can level up blood magic as well, that's why I carry all four.

and no spellmaker = dead TES game to me. I hated skyrim's nerfdown.
here, viking lore had staves, a symbol of status as religious person or magicianish thing
you could have that in oblivion already. but you where still able to use a shield aswell. not the case in skyrim.
in morrowind you could jump trough the game and actually jump higher and farther and run faster etc as you leveled up. removed in casulrim cause dumbing down. oh and you could LEVITATE. also removed. skyrim is a bad tes game.
you dont need need all 4 spells ever. and dead raiser and protection staff are already MAXED OUT right now. so they wont improve anymore.
