Mistlands Boss Experience (Partial Spoiler)
My experience with this boss:
-Get the best armor and weapons in the game, upgraded, with the best food.
-Walk up to the boss site, ready to open it up.
-Immediately get attacked by a flying monster, so I dealt with that first, went back to HQ.
-Went in, realized that as soon as I died it would be extra frustrating to recover my body and prevent instantly dying on the way to it.
-Reached the boss. Could do no significant damage with my bow; didn't try the arbalest yet.
-Tried melee, got killed near instantly.
-Respawned, ate food. Oh, you wanted to go back in there? No you have to fight a seeker soldier on the way in. Fine.
-Devcommands cheated to get to the body, since it was pretty much certain death to find and reach it otherwise. While invisible, banged on the boss a little to see if it was vulnerable to anything. Nothing obvious. Also the arena is so misty that as usual for this biome you can barely see what you're doing, even with the item that exists for the sole reason of dispelling mist. Went back to base and returned.
-Switched to the eitr armor. Turned off cheat. Started to fight honestly and cautiously. Instantly got attacked by a seeker. Fine. Looked for boss -- nope here's another seeker and another. Near-instant death before I can even try magic on the boss, partly because the eitr armor is so weak for anything but magic it's a downgrade from Mountains tier standard armor.
-Decided this wasn't fun, unlike the Yagluth fight.

I could see this being a fun battle in multiplayer, but in SP, I'm seeing nearly instant death while using the top-tier armor and food, having to fight endless waves of minions you can't do anything to wall off, bad visibility, and extra-frustrating body recovery.

Wear feather cape, find the stairs, run and throw fireballs. I liked the boss because it was quite different from all the others.

Recovering lost items is the only conundrum, but so long as you keep at a distance, it's possible to handle it. If you're starting to run out of resources like forsaken powers, rested bonus or potions, you can always jump down (with feather cape) and try to make it for the exit?

You can kind of cheese the boss with the big hammer and it‘s AoE damage in the entrance area of the boss.

So you made a post about how OP the boss is and the only two replies you got were ways to exploit the boss.

Yep, sounds about right.

Using feather cape is an exploit now? I'd guess that most players see it as very powerful item, but it's really just a gameplay feature and the indoors citadel "arena" is all but intentionally built for its use.

Definitely the hardest boss in the game currently (as it should be) and for me was by far the longest boss fight I have had on any playthrough (~3 hours). That being said I went in blind and realized very early on that I was under-prepared and wasted a lot of my resources (but didn't want to give up), so this was an acceptable outcome. Setup a portal right outside the boss arena and go in with 20+ health and stamina potions, poison potion might help but you should not be tanking the bosses poison spit as the sticky debuff is very dangerous and this attack is pretty easy to avoid. I highly recommend the fire staff, ice staff for me was not that useful, I used the frost sword for melee. Dealing with the seeker spawns on top of the boss is what makes it so intense and the fire staff is great for that. 1 health, 1 stamina, and 1 eitr food is a versatile choice for this boss. Do not fight the boss on the ground floor (this wasted a lot of my potions and was the reason for my one death early on), the mist is thickest on the ground and it is easy to get ambushed by flying seekers, the bosses poison spit (which can make you sticky), and the bosses charge attack. Walk up the stairs (periodically running short distances to dodge attacks) to the top where visibility is much clearer. This also gives you the option of dropping down during an emergency to heal (as long as you have the new cape, just remember to climb back up before enaging).

Melee does good damage to the boss but you need to make be very careful as the boss hits very hard. Before going in make sure the 2 seeker spawns are dealt with first (more on that later), you have high stamina, health pots are not on cool down (for emergency), and bonemass power is ready. The bosses attacks aren't hard to dodge up close but don't get greedy and only strike 1-2 times after the boss attacks. The only time it is safe for a third strike is when the boss is summoning as opposed to attacking. I was able to quickly take out 25% of the bosses health like this, but I was too greedy and kept going for that third strike. As a result I used up my large potions (~10) relatively quickly and spent most of the fight tickling the boss with ranged attacks. If you aren't greedy and manage your stamina well (if stamina is low wait do not attack, but stay close) this fight should not be nearly as long as the 3 hour epic I had.

When things are on cool down or you need to stay away to let your health regen (or you ran out of potions...), walk in a circle around the upper floor trying to keep at least a corner of the gap in the floor between you and the boss. Try to keep ~1/3-1/2 of your stamina in reserve in case the boss uses its charge attack to close the distance so you can sprint away. Use the fire staff to try to hit both seekers the boss summons at once. 2 hits + dot should weaken them to the point where a single melee strike will finish them off (just be mindful of the bosses location and your elevation when going in for the kill). Once the seekers are gone continue circling and hit the boss with fireballs. The bow and crossbow aren't that useful here since you will need to be very mindful of your stamina and there aren't many situations where the boss can be safely shot while maintaining safe stamina levels. I haven't mentioned them until now, since you can spend most of the fight ignoring the baby spawnlings as you can usually just avoid them by walking. Only attack them once the boss is very far away (it will occasionally charge in to the central gap at the top area giving you some breathing room) and when the seekers are dead, otherwise ignore them unless they are completely blocking your escape route in which case use the fire staff. Doing this you can safely kite the boss indefinitely but your weapon durability will eventually get low. You can leave the arena, teleport home to repair, and teleport back without the boss regaining (at least any notable amount) health. I did this at least 5 time during the fight.

So, cheese or a three hour long fight that shouldn't take three hours. I'll probably F5 her when the next biome goes in.

Well, it's not like players haven't done that to previous bosses like Yagluth or Bonemass in the past (and present). But it's completely optional, like always.
