Console commands? How? That would be a refresher. devcommands don't work in dedicated as far as I know atm. And yeah, while over time it becomes easier, but I usually like the easy option. "Oh you lost all of your character skills and items?" *waves wand* tada
"-console" doesn't apply to the dedicated server, only the game client. The console pulled up by F5 is only available in the client and the list of commands it recognizes is dependent on the connection "context" (are you playing on a map launched directly from your client or are you connected to a server/remote user?). "devcommands" (which is unlisted in "help" in any context) is only vanilla-available in the "client" context. You have to use a mod to make it (and all the advanced commands it opens up) available in all contexts, including remote/dedicated-server.
This behavior is generally beneficial. There are threads on this forum where server owners have been victimized by supposed-friends vandalizing maps using mod-activated devcommands.
