Deer stew
So cooked deer meat is 35hp/12sta. And it's an ingredient in Deer Stew. Only problem is that Deer Stew only gives 40hp/13sta. So for the addition of one blueberry and one carrot you get a whopping +5hp/+1sta. This seems too low.

I get that it's a tier 1 recipe but the increase in stats is so marginal it only seems to function to stack with deer meat to get +75hp/+25sta. I really wish it had going more for it, if just additional health regen, duration, or something.

My group and me are still in early game, so not much to choose from. But yesterday we built the cauldron and i saw that you can do boar meat jerky, which needs one boar meat and one honey. It gives you a balanced 20/20/1 on your stats, while simple cooked boar meat gives you 30/10/2, not to mention simple cooked deer meat, which gives 35/12/2. So i am not sure if it is worth to invest the honey, especially when you did not find much bee hives yet. I assume, it is ment to balance your stats out and get that very needed 10 extra stamina.

So far i use cooked boar and deer meat and a red mushroom, to get a little stamina boost while retaining 100+ health, so i can stay out of the one shot range of almost everything. But at this early stage in the game, the stamina management feels like a nightmare, especially since the new patch and even after the recent hotfix. I am looking forward to progress and discover more of the new foods, which hopefully alleviate the stamina pain more and more.

A balanced diet is key! It's as important ingame as it is in real life. A Marathon runner has a different diet than a 100m sprinter too! (Referring to HP/Stamina focussed foods)
