Are there any negative repercussions for cutting down all the trees on an island? Because if there aren't, I'm seriously considering doing so

The only repercussions are having to find a place to store all the wood, but the rate at which we have been going through wood, that's not much of a problem. I have eliminated a very large swath of forest. And it's fun. I have the seeds but haven't replanted a tree farm. I kinda like being able to see all the enemies coming and the deer are easy to snipe from the watch towers.
