Construction keeps getting damage?
Hi guys. I noticed something very annoying. My constructions keep getting damage? Even 1 minute after i repaired them? Like, roofs, stairs, gate etc.

Maybe there is some mechanic i'm not aware of?

Also, yes, i know about the colors, green, orange, red etc. This constructions are all in green. None of them are getting too much force, even none, like the gates. Cheers.

The colors just mean the structural integrity. Do you have a work bench in range of the structure? Is it covered with a roof. Is it raining?

I thought if I have a red colour construction it will be getting damage with time. And yes, it was raining. Storming. Yes, workbench in range.

Did you have a roof on any of it though? I had a dock on my fishing hut red for the longest time and it took no damage.

Yeah Rain will damage uncovered and exposed wood floors

Floors, Pillars, Walls, etc that do not have a thatch roof over them will get damaged during storms.

Wood floors and walls w/o a roof over the interior structure (with the visible beams) will take damage over time, down to 50% health, from rain. The colors only indicate the amount of support the structures have for additional crafting. You can't craft on something that's red or the thing you try to craft will immediately crumble.

Rain and water will damage your buildings. The sea will swell when it storms and can swell a lot more than you'd think. I've got one base I thought was safe from it but in big storms it gets soaked. You also have to consider enemies attacking as well, they can damage your buildings. Especially trolls. Ouch.

Make sure you have a proper roof over the structure. Floor tiles will not count as a roof, you need to use thatched roof parts.

The good thing is that the parts will never go below 50% from rain damage.

Thanks for the replies guys. So, everything must have a roof. Even gates outside.

Also, the walls, the interior side is the one with the beams? I was putting them outside. That's why they keep getting damaged??

Aye. There's a rough weathering system that damages unprotected construction.

The coloration is stability
Red means it cannot support more and the new sections will collapse

The damage over time is weathering, cover it with thatch roofs and it will not degrade

Ok, noted. Also, as I questioned before, the walls with the visible beams goes to the inside?

Everything but fences needs a roof.(which is why fences still have bark in them, so they are resistant to water) If you add gates to your fence, yes you want a roof over the gates so they don't weaken over time.
