Did you have a roof on any of it though? I had a dock on my fishing hut red for the longest time and it took no damage.
Make sure you have a proper roof over the structure. Floor tiles will not count as a roof, you need to use thatched roof parts.
The good thing is that the parts will never go below 50% from rain damage.

Everything but fences needs a roof.(which is why fences still have bark in them, so they are resistant to water) If you add gates to your fence, yes you want a roof over the gates so they don't weaken over time.
