In the swamp. Not really anything else to say.

little less obvious than carrot seeds, but still visible at a distance (weather permitting) in swamp

They'll look a little like the carrot seeds in the Black Forest, but they'll be yellow instead of white. You can easily miss them, I only happened upon a few at random in places I've already traveled in my nearest swamp. In the end you only have to find one set of seeds to really get your started though.
My first swamp didn't have a single turnip seed spawn. Second one i had a bonemass spawn and found them there quite frequently.

Difficult to spot them day or night because , well swamp. Dark, always raining, plus you tend to be on the move and there is a lot of ground clutter. I think I found my first on day 90 ish. I found 5 crypts before I found my first. I found another 5 minutes later and haven't found one since.

I am just reseeding continually. I should have over 100 seeds in 2 days now from the 2 I found so keep looking.

Swamps for me have been the most inconsistent biomes. I searched 5 of them before I found just a couple turnip seeds. Still haven't found any iron.

Look for the yellow flowers. They're generally quite rare though.

I've had the best luck on the swamp border personally.
