I understand this point. I have a friend and he just started and I am already at the third boss. What we did was we started a new server but we went step by step and started over. If you do not want to start over then bring over some things and then the server would be started with the first boss instead of the third and you can help him/them with surviving for the first time. When they are then geared and know the game you can continue in your current world or go back to the old world...
ie 3 people start Person 1 kills the first two bosses, Person 2 the first and Person 3 none.
Person 1's Character with have a data entry (just like unlocking gear) that they have killed two bosses and as such if one of their benches is the target of the attack it will be appropriate to that. But if Person 3 is targeted it would only be a forest critter attack.
I don't know if I'd change Trolls though. It seems like a little bit of chaos is good. lol But you could do the same with Trolls that they won't chance if you personally haven't killed two.
I didn't build defenses around my first base in the meadows at all because I didn't need to at the time and assumed that it would stay this way for the meadows.
I really don't want to be forced to crank up the defenses around bases in easy biomes because I keep progressing into difficult biomes. That's just not fun.
Let me keep my open farmhouse in the meadows.
Now here is a question for you what if you have multiple people of different bosses all working on a community village what would happen then....Just something to think on.
I would love this....
I think how it works is, the longer you stay in a base to build, farm, ahng out, whatever, the higher the chance of a raid becomes.
I had 2 swamp awakenings in my standard size meadows camp just for not going out & exploring but planting carrots instead... also got raided a couple of times in a bigger base just for staying and building. When I'm mobile, exploring further out, jut making a minimal camp at night, nothing ever happened to me yet.
This. It picks players at random to spawn raids at. Has nothing to do with the structures itself.
Regardless, poor design on Ark's part doesn't justify poor design here.
Again, I built a tiny shack on joining a server and the next morning got raided.
That happens on exactly day 14 iirc, though a handful of necks isn't the same starting out as dwarves or trolls.
It is a survival game restarting isn't that big a deal to me. As for the OP's situation, if they don't want to be carried then they need to accept the threat it isn't carrying if you help them build a base that can actually defend against an attack. Even if all the internals are basic.
I take it you're assuming starting on the Island which is fairly boring. But for that matter so would starting in the south. Ark's good design justifies a good design here. If people ain't dying it ain't survival it's just living.
