Build on water in wood (dock/jetty)
Hi! I am wondering if anyone has any tips for building a dock/jetty over water. Just to make a nice looking place for the ship to dock. Problem I have is that the wood beams that support the structure over water rots away. I currently only have "wood tech".

Is there a smart way to solve this? I noticed that wood roofs don't rot in water.

Thanks beforehand for any help :)

They will only lose up to 50% of their HP in the water and from rain.

You eventually get stone that doesn't have rotting issues from water. But like I said above, you can safely use it as nothing but enemies and building unsupported structures will destroy things.

I just built mine but was able to put wood beams underwater. It does hold, but I've only spent 2 nights with it still holding up. Does it really rot? My problem now is those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ goblins or boars attacking my raft every time I wake up

I have read that exposed structures (no roof) take damage down to 50%, then no more. Are you constantly repairing & it drops to half, or does it rot below 50%?

i think anything not connected to a roof takes damage. The real question is, what happens if you use roof tiles or attach one in a random spot so it's "connected"

Stuff placed in water will take the 50% damage regardless, and structures only check if the roof is above it, not connected.

Thank you for this answer! I was worried that my whole dock would just crumble and sink into the water! Time to find us some stone age technology then :D
