I would suggest you google up some youtube videos of Dark Souls, as the parry mechanic is similar to that games.
you can technically do it barehanded too, but I believe everything but the neck would just break through the parry block lol.

Yeah, honestly kinda silly of a mechanic for ranged stuff lol.
Pretty easy for the most part, yes. I had a tough time getting the timing down for the trolls attack though, because it was a combination of if I screwed up I would most likely die or only get that one chance and panicking a bit lol.
Parry force

Block power i assume is also used because some weapons dont have and parry force or does that just mean they cant parry?
I think Parry force is how much damage you can parry. If an enemy hits over that limit, you can't parry all of it so will take damage and not parry. Parry bonus is the amount of extra damage you do after a successful parry and block is just how much damage you can block and the rest of the damage will go through
