I haven't counted to be certain, but it should take fewer swings to break the node your hitting. As far as repairing all you need is a forge, it doesn't require more mats.

I also believe the durability is higher. Combine that with fewer hits to break and you get more mining done per repair.

The Durability is much higher and the bronze one can be upgraded, which results in a bigger difference (also damage wise).

ok i just tested and the antler pick does about 6 damage to copper and the bronze pick does 7. The bronze pick does have more durability but so what? i can build a workbench pretty easy next to the copper deposit and just keep repairing the antler pick but i cant do that with the bronze pick unless i take smelted copper with me everywhere i go so i can build a forge next to a copper deposit

When you upgrade the bronze pick axe to star level 3 you'll notice a greater difference. 3 shot nodes and durability lasts long enough that you can do gathering trips without your tool breaking far before you run out of weight space.

i havent upgraded from bronze tools yet.. but im pretty sure you need the bronze pickaxe to mine the new ores just like you need bronze axe to cut fine wood, the antler pick is just for copper, tin and wont cut it anymore for the other ores

Both Bronze pick for mining ore, antler for digging into veins and uncovering more ore.

Bonus, antler can be repaired at a workstation, no need to place a forge to repair it.

You don't have to upgrade i guess. but in the long run you'll save more time and tedium having to only hit a node 3 times instead of 6.

The Bronze pick's usefulness is very obvious when you use it on tin rather than on copper. Once it's upgraded though, you'll notice a huge difference in durability and speed at which you mine everything.

i guess ill try it again when its upgraded but for now it seems useless to me

Try using it on tin- the difference is astonishing.
