Nobody talks about ships, but you. The sailing is simple but so much fun why killing this with portals?
Why are you even playing exploration games if you need instant fast travel mechanics?
I don't think you can really appreciate the SIZE of the map if you think it could always be played without something like teleporters. And it is not out of keeping with the game at all. It is very much a fictional setting and the teleporters fit that very well. But, if you really don't want them, don't use them.
Why should this be a troll post? Isn't it legit in your opinion to ask about the philosophy behind certain gameplay mechanics and decisions made?
