Tanning Racks are annoying the build

First of all - love this game. But I hate making tanning racks! Scrap leather is such a DRAG. I'll kill a deer and if I'm lucky, I'll get four leathers off it. But scrap leather? If I'm REALLY lucky, I'll get 2... And if I'm unlucky? I'll get none at all. So getting 20 scraps to build a tanning racks is such a slag that anytime I start a new base somewhere (I like building bases - it's what I do), it'll take me a few days to build one. Am I doing it wrong? Because if not, bringing the requirement down to 10 would be a huge improvement for me.

I made a huge boar pen and have about 30-40 of them at one time. If I need some leather scraps I slaughter some boars...toss down a bunch of berries and they breed again to replace, Rinse repeat.

Oh this one is simple. You're doing it wrong.

You can get scraps off of deer. But boars are where it's at. I started yesterday and got a tanning rack in less than 10 mins just by hunting boars.

Boars are also easier to kill as they will attack and not run... so a group of 3-4 boars gets you 3-4 scraps. I had to go hunting for them. They generally are in the edges of open fields so it took... 2 days when I decided to build one.

Being as you really only need one.. unless you are building homesteads all over the place... and it can be easily reclaimed and rebuilt. It really isn't to difficult. It may also just be a bad seed.

My seed seems to be really even about it.

I am definitely building homesteads all over the place - and I am definitely not getting 3-4 scraps when ever I come across a herd of 3-4 boars. Sometimes I do! sometimes I only get 1. Depends on the encounter. I didn't know boars like spawning along the edges though, I'll keep that in mind :D

I'm wondering if my game is bugged cause I havent found enough scrap to build a tanning rack and I've been killing enough boar to have stacks of meat stored and enough left over for plenty coal as well. Playing for hours and I'm starting to get frustrated.

Just exploring the map and killing everything you come across you can get a full stack in under an hour.

Every boar drops a scrap leather. Your inventory is full or you're not waiting long enough by the body for the items to pop

I confirmed my problem not only with myself but with another player. I don't seem to have any problem with full inventories or picking anything else up. Took us about an hour between two people to get enough for basic equipment and a tanning rack.
