Range of an attack from a troll

I want to build a bunker that is protected by an earthen wall and has a ditch on the outside. How many meters thick should the wall be so that trolls cannot destroy the inside of the bunker when they are in the ditch?

I used to watch these to get some clues on how to build my bases Link .
Should be a range of 8m iirc.

iirc the log trolls have a range of 8m with their attack, so that's how wide you need to make your trench if you don't plan to go out and fight them in melee.

You don't have to go to that much trouble. The earthen wall only has to be 2 meters x 2 meters as long as you put no structures within 6 meters of the inside of the wall.

You also don't need to take the time to dig a full moat if you do this. You only need to dig a pit large and deep enough to stop a troll entering in front of where you have your gates to the interior of your base.

You can use a single core wood pole across the ditch as a balance beam you can walk across. When you need to take a cart across just cover the beam with floor tiles, move the cart, and then remove the floor tiles again.
