however Standard game ballistas attack anything they can see most especially including you!
to prevent this you can touch the trophy to them.
So to kill Fader with Balistae safely you need a Fader head which makes the exercise pointless does it not?
I suppose it depends. I never thought to set up ballistae to fight to Fader, and I'm not sure what their targeting priority is without a trophy loaded. But, if you trust that you can avoid the missile fire and maneuver Fader into a position where he's targeted before you are, it could work.
Still, I think your ballistae are all more likely to be destroyed before they do sufficient damage to justify the time taken to set them up in the first place.
they took more than half the life of the boss before getting destroyed.
totally worth it.
would have been even better if i hadn't been so slow to realize the adds targeted them.
i ended it with 2 tiny lightning flavored rippers. (such poor durability for such amazing weapon)
Hey good job, nice to know some preliminary set-up is worth it lol

I like to surround the site with a terrain enclosure and knock out the charred ruin with a battering ram. Of the 105 in the pen, they managed to get Fader to %25 health in the first minute. But the survivors - about 50 - were in wandering packs on the edges of the pen and I had to lead Fader into them to finish him off. If (when) I do my 4th play-through I will try again to do it with melee. But when opportunity presents itself in Valheim, you learn to adapt.
