Valheim's butcher knife was added in the Hearth and Home update specifically for killing the animals who have fallen in love with us.
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Butcher_knife
The Hearth and Home update requires you to turn friendly fire on or your weapons will do zero damage to tamed creatures.
And since most people play with friendly fire off, you might want to craft a butcher knife for when it's time to harvest your flock.
Recipe is
2 wood
4 tin craft in A forge
Friendly fire on can and will do damage to friends in co op leave it off.

Construct a half wall channel from the boar current location to the location of it's/they their new home.
Get behind them, and use a torch or craft a standing torch. They will shoot down the corridor you crafted. you will likely need to continue with the fire until you get them where they need to be..
opposite of follow, but to the same end
It's likely easier to get a wild boar to chase/attack you and you lead it to your base - if there is a land route with just small rivers. Use a shield to block their attack. They will circle around and attack again and again so keep moving to your base but don't get too far ahead of them.
I believe the evil devs made it especially frustrating to move tamed boars around without a harpoon. I expect they spent extra time to code 'cat behavior' into the AI. I can almost hear them laughing (as they should, it's a genius prank on the players)
Now, it's confusing.
I just laughed so hard reading this.
Significantly.
Read Jaunitta's comment above.
From what I've seen on youtube they don't recover from the wound very fast and it's easy to kill them. If possible I'd still let a wild one chase me to base if there was a land/shallow river route. I don't have a harpoon yet so it's just a foot race for me.
I could harpoon them and drag them around without issue. But I never used a spear with that character.
I'd guess that would apply to tamed wolves as well?
