Best way to kill wraiths ?
Got 2 times killed now, i cannot run since they fly and are always near me. So when they are close to me what would be good ? I don't have iron yet, wearing troll armor lvl 3. Should i use bronze shield and mace ?
Or what about the atgeir special attack that staggers all, are they staggered too by it ?

Help would be nice, the blobs and draugr are handable but wraiths are still a big problem.

poking and backing works with the draugr pretty well, just poke and step back at once and his reaction misses me, so i may hope this works with wraiths too;)

Maybe sleep at night until you have enough iron and better food?
There may be a wraith haunting an ancient tower or ruined shack. In this case, you will encounter them by day (and it's a hint that there is a structure nearby). Once killed, they don't respawn, however. They are like denizens of abandonned towers in Black Forest.

Even crude arrows. Only three of them with the second bow, if the first one is a sniping arrow. Moreover, charging wraith makes it quite an easy target.
I build a "turret" on my swamp outposts (a balcony with a roof) with enough opening to shoot the bow, and not enough for a large wraith to go melee.

And if you are fortunate, you will acquire the elusive wraith trophy - possibly the rarest trophy in the game given the spawn and drop rates.

That trophy looks amazing too.

My 2 cents on this - make sure to listen carefully in the swamp and turn off the music. All the mobs make sounds before they get close - even the wraith. Once you learn to listen for the various mob sounds and know what is just the normal swamp environmental sounds, it gets a lot easier to know what is coming. Took me a while to hear the difference between the Swamp environmental "plop" and the leech, but now I know them all. Let us know if this helps!

Same thing you do to nearly any mob. Parry and counter.

In that case you only go there once and know about them and can prepare, right? With an upgraded sword a wraith is a 2, at most 3 hit affair.

Guess I can count me lucky then. ;) I got one when hunting them in my backyard swamp for chains (you need quite a lot of those for Dvergr lanterns). I knew they were kinda rare, but THAT rare?

I've generally had more trouble with the cultist one, though on the other hand the wraith trophy doesn't craft anything so it's not like i ever went out of my way to farm it. It just drops eventually.

As for the spawn rates (night spawn) wraiths respawn in the same areas every night like clockwork - once you've found one just slap down a map marker and set up a portal nearby and you can easily farm a dozen or more wraiths per night with a little exploration.
Which is great for building or if you have bad luck with chains from chests.

It makes a great decoration item.

So shield and sword/mace seem to be reliable ways to kill the wraith. Blocking skill 32 enough, along with a bronze buckler ?

Draaugr are considered undead, yet they are resistant to fire.
