boss fight and minion spawns...

Well well well... I was fighting the elder, and it was going well (bow skill 40!).

I was carefully focused on him to dodge those vines which would insta kill me whatever my armor since I play immersive+ (double damage).

But my armor was useful to handle those pesky minions (got hit by 1 or 2 greydwarf rocks).

You know what, those vines are making a lot of noise destroying everything, shaking your screen, etc.

Yeah... and I died.

...

I did not hear or see or get any cues about the troll right behind me.

Ok, before you summon the boss, you must scout out the area and kill the mobs in the immediate area. The Elder fight does not spawn any minions besides the vines.

(Hint) you can turn off camera shake. Infact, anyone that doesn't turn off camera shake, can't be my friend. That goes for keeping the controls/keys hints on also. (bottom right white text)

And you really think I did not do that... :(

Well I did it. Not to mention the "immediate" boss spawn area has very nice visibility (lucky me! ahah!). The only troll I "scouted" (and killed) was really "far".

I suspect that while moving around the boss spawn during the elder fight, I did cross some "zone" boundary and got myself some spawns... one of them was a troll, and with the ruckus of the fight, well... it got me good: just saw its killing blow blue arm.

And how far is "immediate"?

Anyways, so long for my bow skill 40+. At least I know the location of an elder spawn where I did build a well furbished outpost.

Let me grind a new karve and I'll go back: AND I AM GOING TO LEVEL DOWN THE WHOLE BLACK FOREST AROUND THE BOSS SPAWN UNTIL A TOTALLY INSANE DISTANCE... Since I did contain the elder in moat walls (yes, I *REALLY* did prepare my fight), I may use its vines to level down the trees "at range"... will probably die a few times is the process.

Rekt the Elder from afar with fire arrows, in its moat jail. I'll come back probably, coze I'll need more keys, I already have many seeds for more summoning.

That said: I cleared a reasonable sized chunk of the black forest around the elder spawn... It was infested with troll spawns, I killed 3 of them (there were more all around) in the cleared zone.

No wonder. Namely, anybody fighting the elder at this spawn would have dragged many trolls into the fight.

While I was clearing the zone: I got a nearly continuous stream of greydwarves... some almost did pop on me.

While I was figthing trolls, greydwarves were popping almost on me.

This was so ridiculous, I suspect bugs.

Time to scout a nice swamp to bootstrap iron production. I still dunno how I will handle draugr double damage arrows from out-of-the-blue.
