Askvin Breeding questions

Is there a way to be successful at Askvin breeding? I don't want to teraform anything but bringing them all the way to my base near spawn is a long long trek. What is everyone doing? I need more tails than I'm finding wandering around and getting jumped by a morgen/valk is getting old.

Any advice?

they lay eggs. so easy to breed. just make 1 breeding pair, get 2 eggs in your backpack and take them home.

sorry, convert a fortress into your first breeding area until you have a few eggs, then just go through a portal to home.

Thanks, I had no idea they laid eggs. I wouldn't have guessed.

Also note that once you get the eggs home there is an askvin autofarm design video you can find on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqrLYc4DrkA&t=664s and of course the usual autobreeder design will work on them too,albeit slightly larger.

Can also dig a big ditch. You can block their attacks and they will fall into it. if the ditch is deep enough and steep enough they can’t get out. But hanging around for them to be tamed isn’t much fun. Use the new potion I suppose.
