Wind mechanics ruin this game
I don't care how supposedly "realistic" it is, having to spend an hour to travel a tiny distance because the wind stays in your face and refuses to move is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating. It basically has to be at your back too because if it's on the edge 3 speed has no difference from just rowing.

No it´s literally not ruined without the mod. Cross the wind. Go educate yourself about sailing. Like said, there is even a guide on steam on how to do it.
Oh yeah, in the case of mods that only serve to make the game much easier than it should be rather than fixing bugs/issues, providing QoL changes/additions, or completely changing how the game plays in a unique/interesting way, then it's absolutely laziness. That's like the equivalent of those pathetic journalists who admitted to cheating at Sekiro just to beat the game and then had the gall to say that the game sucked because they didn't get the full experience from it.

No, they don't. We're done here.

You totally don't know about Valheim sailing.LOL
If wind blows your face, set the velocity at 1st grade.
Because in 1st grade, it is rowing, it doesn't matter the wind.
What will you guys think of next to complain about? Wind? Seriously? Crap man, i guess the wind really ruined life cause... it wasnt always at the backs of the hundreds of thousands (millions?) of ships over the thousands of years of water travel. How did they ever deal with it, huh.

I know how they could make it better though, i was thinking of this earlier! If the wind doesnt go, you have to row... and actually do something to row. Like, push a pull with your mouse an oar that has resistance and consumes stamina! Oh wait, you guys complain about normal movement abilities when it comes to stamina... hm.. Well F it! Just use telepor... wait you guys complain about teleporters not teleporting ore. Guh, can you have nothing that works as YOU want it to work? Its like the devs made a game that they felt the hardcore community would enjoy or some crazy bonkers idea like that. la mao

I absolutely love the realistic sailing mechanics in this game. I get anywhere I want with no issues no matter which way the wind blows by simply using basic sailing techniques.

I fore one am not too fond of the whole ore not being portable through teleporters, but I feel like introducing more transportation options that you can utilize for ore teleportation while not providing the instant transportation of portals would be a better option rather than moaning about it. Maybe mounts that you can use to travel across land more quickly, but you'd have to tame them and maintain their health/hunger to get the best out of them, and they should startle easily at signs of threats as well. Honestly, having to run back and forth on foot in general is very grooling. Wouldn't mind being able to tame one of those deers, or even a horse, but that's just me. lol

There are some players complaining about every aspect of the game that's even the slightest bit difficult or requires a modicum of effort. It's rather sad, but there are cheats or mods to make the game as easy, or as tough, as people want so I guess they can tailor the experience to their preference and I suppose that's not a bad thing.

I personally don't understand it because I feel that the developers have made a pretty well crafted experience but I also know that it won't appeal to everyone. Over 5 million people bought Valheim, most reviews are positive, but even if 2% don't like the game that's a lot of voices that can, and probably will, complain about something. I think a lot of players who are happy just don't post about it as often as the people who don't like something so we see an awful lot of it.

You need to beat the boss that gives you the power to control the wind for a bit. I use that when I'm not able to go the direction I want. Also, you're wrong that 3 sail power is the same as paddling into the wind. 3 Sail power is far slower than paddling because well.. physics it's not hard to imagine. Tacking is also how you get around it, albeit not super fast either. Eat a sandwich and wait for the wind to change, you sound hangry.

For me. It the weather bad? I continue food prep that day. Is the wind the right direction I want to go that morning? No? Do a metal run. If the weather's fine, the wind out to sea, now it's time to get lost for a few days. Don't matter how it changes mid trip. You go with it or tack against. I like the world being chaotic and wild. This isn't The Wind Waker and that's fine. And modding it into Wind Waker is fine too. One is the creators decision that many are for and the other is personal taste. Neither is inherently bad. And if the devs add some late game ritual or item to change the wind, I have the option to not use it.

A ritual to change the weather to your advantage would be interesting for late game. A reward for those who bother to go against and master the game's chaotic weather system. Perhaps a boss later on down the line could be the one to grant said reward? Something like a giant hawk/eagle that manipulates the winds to its advantage, even to the point of weaponizing it against you.

I use the wind behind my back mod. Because I'm a father, I work 6 days a week, 8 hours a day. I don't like to spend most of my time playing video games. There is life outside of games. I chose this mod to help me progress faster in the ocean. I hear you on the dead wind. Anyone who suggests to paddle away should seriously consider life choices. We are playing a video game. Not real life. Problem fixed. Download the wind behind you mod.

O? Rly? Wouldn't something like that be cool? A wind power that lets you sail however you want? Guess what? There is one. That's why people should *NOT* mod the game. They ruin the reward you EARN later on.

These friggin wind threads.

Ive had an equal number of trips with the wind against me as ive had it with me the entire time. Never got maximum over triggered when it was against me. Sometimes, things will just work against you.

With 3 people using modor its completely trivial. Never even had to do that tho, usually one 5 min boost is all you typically need. If thats not enough, are you yacht racing across the disk or what???

In fluid dynamics, Bernoulli's principle states that an increase in the speed of a fluid occurs simultaneously with a decrease in static pressure or a decrease in the fluid's potential energy.[1](Ch.3)[2](§ 3.5) The principle is named after Daniel Bernoulli who published it in his book Hydrodynamica in 1738.[3] Although Bernoulli deduced that pressure decreases when the flow speed increases, it was Leonhard Euler who derived Bernoulli's equation in its usual form in 1752.[4][5] The~~~~

Why do I need to know about fluid dynamics to play a video game??
