Efficient way to farm stone?
Expect "cutting" down premade buidlings

repair first, then cut up old ruins is nice.
but anything works. Find a rock, hit it with your pickaxe, get 3-4 or so rocks per swing.
the MOST efficient way is to save all the rocks you get when you mine ore. Silver and copper are going to produce 4-5 stacks of rocks each node, and someday you will want them, so you make an extra trip (portal!) with all you can stuff in your bag (ok to be overloaded) and dump them back home.
If you are not on any sort of ore gathering part of your career, and just want pure rocks, go hit the giant rocks in the dark forest. They look like copper, but are not.

digging a giant trench works too. its less rocks per swing than seeking out actual rocks, but its efficient and mindless.

Well, efficiency is relative i guess, but if you dig down to the lowest depth you can with a pickaxe (8 meters down from surface), you can actually just mine the un-changing floor indefinitely and keep getting stone. It's not a 100% chance per swing, but, it IS limitless stone as far as I can tell.

now that is interesting, I did not know it made rock at the bottom. sounds like a winner if you just want mindless click.
drink stamina regen booze if you are going to spam click. Chasing actual rocks you will recover naturally.
Oh, and the dark forest rock idea has a double duty: the idiot dwarves spam attack and each one has a rock.

one last idea.. grave sites are full of stones that break easy and have a low yield but they also often have treasure chests (vendor trash currency stuff) buried. Some of these are massive, 20+ stones.

Get a troll or a stone golem to destroy ruins. Not always possible, but if you have them near one it´s super fast.

I look out for open spaces with no trees (glade? is that the right word) in the meadows, there is often a lot of stone.

I just farm stone in the Mountains biome. Tons of it up there, and I have a portal from when I fought Moder previously.

I just found out about the deep trench method. It not the fastest but it definitely terrain the least so its what I do to prevent lagging from excessive terraforming.

One broke iron pickaxe nets me a stack of 50 stone, give or take.

Built a small shelter to speed things up. I position myself and turn on an auto clicker.

I have thousands of stones from just mining or clearing paths to mining areas. Never had to farm it as I got it as a byproduct from doing other things.

If you can survive the plains, destroying the bottom of the huge pillars makes it literally rain rocks.

Early on, I just found a big field with stones in it, and went to town on them with the antler pickaxe.

I tried this actually. The Pillar just disappeared.

I've been doing the same thing I did with Copper. Just with the none copper rocks you see. I also find finding a field with loads of rock formations in them is good too.

I spent a few hours mining 8400 ore which sadly doesn't look like it was enough due to a miscalculation. I actually needed 12,000-14,000

Which is a tough pill to realize.

For what do you need 10 k ores?? Trying to build a city out of copper or something?

The big stone nodes in the Black Forest that look like copper nodes. They give a ton of stone each. Mine them as you would copper so you get it all (dig around to uncover it all then feast on their stony goodness). You can also just mine copper nodes and get free copper with the stone.

I used that method to get enough stone for this (90% was for landfill - I raised it from a tiny island).

If English isn't your main language, sometimes we suggest things by making a statement. So I was suggesting you can get a lot of stone through mining copper and silver ores. You will get even more from mining stone ores in Black Forest as someone else mentioned. That has been the most efficient way to gather stone for me.
